A rigorous solidification structure control is an important
requirement for the production of high-quality aluminum alloys.
The addition of grain refiners on cast metal is the most effective
way of developing a thin, uniform granular structure through the addition
of nucleating agents.
Grain refiners with different relationships between titanium and boron
or between titanium and carbon are available for use in the different
features of each process. The selection of the most suitable grain
refiner for use should consider the type of allow to be treated, the
amount of remelting or secondary aluminum used in the process, the
size of the final grain, as well as the melting and leakage practices
(solidification rate) of each process.
Technical information in a data sheet, as well as the expertise of
the engineers and the technical staff of AMG Brazil are available
for helping our clients to define the most appropriate grain refiner
and a great rate of addition for each process.
