The addition of alloy elements may be also performed through
metals in shape of inserts, the Altabs.
They are a blend of the main metal such as Fe, Mn, Cu, Cr and Ti,
compacted with a flow, increasing the output and cleaning the oxides.
In general, Altabs have less metallic recovery than aluminum master
alloys. AMG also provides other materials for addition of elements
in alloys, such as metallic Mg and metallic Si.
