During the eutectic modification, needles and silicon boards are transformed into a thin, fibrous structure. The porosity of the cast pieces is then redistributed, increasing their sealing and ductility properties. The use of strontium in hypoeutectic systems is largely used and considered as the most efficient one as a structure modifier.
